Renovation of Dongpo Theater

Interior Space and Exhibition Design Renovation of Dongpo Theater by Xin Hu Yuting Jin Renovation of Dongpo is an interior design project for a theater in Hangzhou, China. The theater opened in 1992 near West Lake and carried marks from many periods. The renovation works by subtraction, removing unneeded decoration while keeping traces of different times and returning the building to a simpler state. Beams, columns and equipment in the hall are reorganized to appear plain and orderly. Concrete fibreboard walls, black steel and soft lighting recall an ancient cave. The design covers 4150 square meters on three floors.
