Coral Teapot

Swee Tuan Pang

Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Coral Teapot by Swee Tuan Pang Coral is a handmade teapot inspired by the intricate forms and textures of sea corals. The single handle allows the teapot to be held from all directions, overhead, from the left or from the right, reflecting the many ways different cultures handle a teapot. An indent at the back of the body allows the teapot to be pinched and lifted. The design of the lid is integrated into the handle, so the lines flow around the whole form. Coral is made of coil-constructed, altered, carved and textured earthenware, finished with shino glaze and fired in oxidation.
