Textile Art Center

Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design Textile Art Center by Kris Lin Textile is an urban art center created within a former blanket factory in Deqing County, an area with a long silk weaving history. The renovation retains historical elements of the old building and follows its original architectural structure. Broken lines integrate the building form into the interior. LED light strips recall yarn and weaving machines. The 2000 square meter space holds a historical exhibition hall and a community art center with a library for young people. Cultural memory is joined with new public functions.
