Architecture, Building and Structure Design A House in the Landscape Naturous Residence by keun young Shim A House in the Landscape is a detached private house built in Pangyo, Republic of Korea. The house is designed to form a balance with its irregular site rather than to stand apart from neighboring buildings. Large continuous windows frame the surrounding nature, following the traditional Korean idea of borrowing scenery. A corridor acts as a transitional space and creates a sequence of changing views. The structure is reinforced concrete. The exterior is finished with old white brick, zinc, western red cedar and broken stone. The reclaimed bricks give a calm and natural texture.
