Design Quality and Innovation Venous Materials Interactive Sensors and Display by Hila Mor Venous Materials is an interactive material that works as both a sensor and a display. Thin fluidic channels are formed inside soft silicone, and colored ink moves through the channels. When a user bends the material or applies pressure, the ink flow changes and creates visible patterns and color shifts. The material is soft and self-contained, and the motion of the user provides the energy. A computational design tool allows the geometry and the fluid flow to be simulated before production. Production involves laser engraving and laboratory processes.
