Performing Arts, Stage, Style and Scenery Design Woman in Power Costume Design by Reba Dilbert Woman in Power is a carnival costume created to represent the strength of women. The costume forms a fan-like shape adorned with feathers, worn as a statement piece. The pink and purple colors refer to the global symbols of breast cancer and domestic abuse awareness. The sculpted structure is framed with metal wire and bonded using a special technique, then covered with fabrics such as spandex and lace and finished with sequins and other embellishments. Woman in Power was handmade from scratch as a tribute to survivors.
