West Lake Service Area

Architecture, Building and Structure Design West Lake Service Area by Chun Kong Au Hangzhou West Lake Service Area is a highway service area in Hangzhou, China. The reconstruction project covers a planning area of 61,408 square meters and replaces older facilities of limited scale and function. The design takes inspiration from the sweet-scented osmanthus, the city flower of Hangzhou, and osmanthus shaped roofs crown the buildings. Facades of white curtain wall glass and wooden grilles link the architecture with the surrounding landscape. Two main buildings to the north and south hold dining spaces with different themes. Warm wood and plain colors define the interior.
