The Mixc Kunshan Kids Area

Interior Space and Exhibition Design The Mixc Kunshan Kids Area by Li Xiang The MIXc Kunshan is a children themed public area inside a shopping mall in Kunshan, China. The renovated space covers 4500 square meters on the third floor, where most shops serve children and families. The design draws on Kunqu Opera, a traditional art form born in Kunshan. Elements such as cloud collars, long sleeves, headdresses, stage makeup and musical instruments are translated into simple cartoon forms and applied to large installations, signboards and guardrails. Custom soft furnishings work as seats and as interactive points along the route.
