Primary Residence Type Design

Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Primary Residence Type Design by Tianzhen Evleen Huang Primary Residence is a typeface design that turns minimal architectural forms into letters and numbers, using the three primary colors red, blue and yellow. Each character shows a small part of a building, without a clear entry or exit. Stairs, windows and geometric shapes refer to the Bauhaus movement and to minimalist architecture. The design was also informed by stairs and windows observed in different parts of the world. The sketches were made on paper, based on photographs of real buildings. The aim is to blend the form and the identity of the structure.
