ReCover Smartphone Repurposing Service

Sustainable Products, Projects and Green Design ReCover Smartphone Repurposing Service by Anastasia Klimova ReCover is a conceptual service that allows smartphone owners to turn obsolete phones into useful devices such as a webcam, a security camera or a touchpad. The ReCover application scans the hardware and firmware of a phone and then suggests suitable options based on its condition. A kit is ordered, and a new operating system prepares the phone for its new role. The phone is placed inside a case made of injection moulded recycled ABS plastic. ReCover keeps old phones out of landfill and offers useful hardware at a low cost.
