Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Wind Crystals Installation Art by doT & associates Wind Crystals is an outdoor art installation built in Budai County, Taiwan. The work recalls the local salt industry through forms based on salt crystals. Mahogany wood is cut at two special angles to create tapered polygonal frames, which are joined into a truss structure that can be extended freely. Only two component types form the whole body, so the parts are prepared in a factory and the on-site assembly time is kept short. The installation covers 24 square meters and turns with the sea breeze, following light and shadow along the coast.
