The apartment stands in the Luwan District, an area known for Shikumen architecture and Western Baroque buildings. The design refers to local Shanghai culture and aims to bring comfort and warmth through wooden panels and white leather. The dividing wall between the living room and the kitchen was removed to create a single wider space. Partitions between the study, kitchen, dining room and terrace were also removed, so movement through the home is continuous.
