Architecture, Building and Structure Design Tranquil Hotel by CHUN FU DEVELOPMENT The Lakeshore Hualien Tranquil is a hotel located in Hualien City, Taiwan. The design draws on the local mountains and the Pacific Ocean, and on the painting The Beauty of Taroko by Ma Paisui. Mountain ridges become pentagonal geometry in the beams and columns of the first floor, while triangles appear on the corridor and ceiling. Undulating lines on the facade suggest sea waves. A wooden grille and light transparent glass bring in daylight and outdoor views. Upper floors are set back to create terraces, improve ventilation and reduce shading of neighboring buildings.
