Macalister Mansion Boutique Hotel

Interior Space and Exhibition Design Macalister Mansion Boutique Hotel by Chaos Design Studio Old English Embodiment is the interior design of a boutique hotel set in a restored colonial mansion built in the early 1800s in George Town, Penang, Malaysia. The hotel has eight rooms, and each room is finished with a different marble slab. The reception table is an abstract plan view of the eight marbles placed together, so the spaces are linked. The lobby and the landing are arranged as an old English study for waiting guests. A curved staircase leads guests to the upper corridors. The design balances a formal character with a homelike atmosphere.
