Architecture, Building and Structure Design Involve Factory and Office by Hisanori Ban Involve is a factory and office building located in Nisshin, Aichi, Japan. The plan follows an equiangular spiral, also called a logarithmic spiral. The spiral layout guides workers along curved paths, so contact between colleagues happens often. The frequent contact is intended to improve quality and productivity. The spiral geometry also allows columns, beams and cross bracing to repeat the same connection details, and only the length of each member changes. The building sits on a hill like a stone sculpture, and new trees recall the forest that once covered the site.
