Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Let Parents Stay Anti-poverty Social Design by Yu Chen Let Parents Stay is a typeface based on traditional Han Embroidery, created to support a poverty-stricken village. Jinling Village is home to more than two thousand children left behind by working parents, and many residents are skilled in Han Embroidery. Local embroidery products sold poorly because the patterns had changed little for a hundred years. Classic embroidery elements were abstracted and reconstructed into modern letterforms, which local embroiderers stitch by hand. The aim is to create income and to pass the craft on in a modern visual language.
