Moment Series Sculpture

Fine Arts and Art Installation Design Moment Series Sculpture by Derya Geylani Vuruşan Moment is a sculpture series that combines heirloom porcelain with blown borosilicate glass. The antique porcelain cups carry traces of history into the present, while the shaped glass represents a frozen moment. The glass is formed as if a liquid were splashing, so a brief instant is held still. Transparent and opaque colored glass was selected to suit the structure and concept of each cup. Every glass form is blown first and then joined to the porcelain piece. The intent is to preserve special moments within rapidly passing time.
