Idea and Conceptual Design Silicon Infusion Dosing System by Sheng-Lun Huang Silicon is a semi automatic infusion dosing system that controls the flow rate and the duration of intravenous medication. A mechanical timer and a flow rate valve are placed above and below the infusion tube, so medical staff can set the required drip rate and time without mental calculation. When the dose is complete, the valve switches to a physiological saline mode and the injection continues, which reduces the risk of errors during busy periods. Silicon needs no electricity and can therefore serve areas with limited medical resources.
