The Essence Residence

Interior Space and Exhibition Design The Essence Residence by KAO SHIH CHIEH The Essence is a residential interior design for an apartment in Taiwan. A large beam crosses the apartment at a height of less than 210 centimetres. Both sides of the beam are covered with large zebra wood, with titanium-plated metal at the bottom, turning the beam into a focal point. The ceiling meets the beam through oblique angles and curves, which extends the view upward and makes the space appear broader. A long table serves as both a living and a dining area. Most storage is placed in the private rooms, and hidden cabinets keep the shared space simple.
