Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Lab Future Construction Event Identity by Tsung-Han Lin Lab Future Construction is an event identity created for a design exhibition in Taiwan. The identity is based on a new written language called Hou-Ru Wen. Hou-Ru Wen was developed by reconstructing existing notes, signs and symbols from the viewpoint of an alien observer. The letterforms mix the word structures of Phoenician and Berber, and Mandarin phonetic symbols are used for spelling. The layout refers to Sumerian cuneiform, so the writing is aligned to the bottom. The identity extends to the venue, the website and the catalog.
