Petit Duc Bench

Furniture Design Petit Duc Bench by Julien Hac Petit Duc is a bench designed for both outdoor and indoor use. The seat is a tablet of shale sandstone, a local stone quarried near Malmedy in Belgium. The stone blocks are cut, machined and polished, and the chamfers are shaped by hand. The tablet rests on slender legs of metallized steel with a powder coating that resists corrosion and ultraviolet light. The bench measures 2000 mm in length and weighs 80 kg. Four finishes are offered: raw, honed light, honed dark and sanded. The aim was to give new value to a local material.
