The design respects the natural mountain setting and the character of the existing orchard. Three elements define the site. A pure cherry orchard is elevated above the ground. Curved textured walls, built from local granite boulders found on the site, blur the boundary between vertical wall and horizontal path. Winding roads covered with cherry blossom petals complete the impression of a forest valley. Local craftsmen shaped the stone with traditional techniques.
