The bird is made with the traditional cloisonne technique, which gives rich and lively colors. The hollow window is made of 18k gold and is light in weight. Inlaid diamonds add brightness in the sun. The cloisonne work is made by hand through more than ten steps, including cutting, carving, wire work, glazing, firing at 800 degrees and grinding. The brooch measures 49 mm high and 41 mm wide.
