T Noie Residential House

Katsutoshi Sasaki

Architecture, Building and Structure Design T Noie Residential House by Katsutoshi Sasaki T Noie is a residential house built in Toyota City, Japan. The house is arranged as two spaces, each 1.55 meters wide, placed on either side of a central structure. The minimum dimensions needed for each room were studied for a family of five, and this study led to the width of 1.55 meters. Posts of laminated pine 50 mm wide are joined to beams to form a T-shaped structure. The floorboards are made of 55 mm local cypress. High windows bring in natural light that changes the interior through the day. The compact plan suits small sites and limited budgets.
