Grasp the Light Residence

HONG-YU OU

Interior Space and Exhibition Design Grasp the Light Residence by HONG-YU OU Grasp the Light is a residential interior design completed in Taiwan for a forty-year-old house. The narrow and long building was dark and poorly ventilated, so a glass roof was added to draw daylight into the interior. A solid wood book wall follows the cathedral ceiling and extends to the first floor, where steel frames and glass treads replace the original stairs. Cabinets on both sides divide the areas instead of partitions and keep the space open. A hallway on the second floor links the home to the villa next door, where relatives live. Cedar, cypress, granite and brick are used.
