Concavity and Convexity Office Space

Kevin Hsieh

Interior Space and Exhibition Design Concavity and Convexity Office Space by Kevin Hsieh Concavity and Convexity is a two-story reception center located in Taoyuan, Taiwan. The interior combines classical lines with modern materials. Galvanized mesh panels are used as screens and as ceilings around the staircases. The mesh lets light pass through, so light and shadow move across the plain white walls. A corridor with black and white stripes and black mirrors creates a visual effect similar to a tunnel. The ceiling is formed by asymmetrical carved collage instead of a symmetrical layout. The design was inspired by the paintings of Pierre Soulages.
