Architecture, Building and Structure Design A Monument Without Words Exhibition Center by Haobo Wei & Jingsong Xie A Monument Without Words is a cultural and visitor centre located on the Cuisuba grassland in Guizhou, China. The centre stands on a mountain plateau at an altitude of nearly 2,000 metres, surrounded by highland meadows and mountains. The building form recalls a traditional altar of the Yi people, the local indigenous community, and a system of skylights creates a dialogue with the sky. The structure is built with a concrete frame and uses local sandstone, concrete and stained glass. The three floors serve both visitors and the local community.
