Abrete y Cierrate Cabinet

Furniture Design Abrete y Cierrate Cabinet by Federico Varone Abrete y Cierrate is a storage cabinet with sliding doors. The doors are formed by a weave of recycled leather strips joined with metal rivets. The structure is made of Lenga wood from Argentine Patagonia, cut with numerical control machinery and finished with a water-based polyurethane lacquer. Custom magnetic fasteners are set into the wood, so each door closes softly along two metal rails. The weave changes with the viewing angle and with the movement of the doors, creating shifting light and shadow. The cabinet measures 1200 by 600 by 800 millimeters.
