XYG Window Visual Identity

Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design XYG Window Visual Identity by Xinyue Guo XYG Window is a visual identity created for a design studio. The identity joins traditional Chinese literati art with modern simplicity. The name of the studio founder was deconstructed into strokes, then reorganized in the style of traditional seals. Decorative elements were removed, and the form was refined with grids and the Fibonacci spiral. The inspiration came from ancient Chinese seal script and from the window openings of the classical gardens of Suzhou. On the website, the positive and negative spaces, known as yin and yang, serve as navigation buttons.
