Interior Space and Exhibition Design YS Retreat Hotel by Song Zhengxiang YS Retreat is a hotel interior located in a mountain village in Tibet, China. The design combines Han and Tibetan styles, using Tibetan elements as a background rather than as the main theme. Visible design gestures are kept to a minimum, leaving nature, scenery and space to the guests. Large floor-to-ceiling windows open the rooms to snow-capped mountains and lakes. Micro-cement covers the walls, and original wood is used with little decoration. Old anti-corrosion wood was polished and reused. The interior is intended to support rest and quiet reflection.
