Pai Illustration

Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design Pai Illustration by Cheng Xiangsheng Pai is a series of four digital illustrations about loneliness. The series presents loneliness as an endless loop, showing the feeling as a complex state rather than a single experience. Lines, colors and forms are used to express isolation and the wish for connection. Rich colors and detailed figurative elements carry the narrative. The illustrations were drawn on a tablet with a digital painting application, at a size of 2048 by 2048 pixels. The work responds to reduced personal contact during the pandemic. Prints are planned for galleries and digital versions for online exhibitions.
