Oksoo Elementary School Library

Interior Space and Exhibition Design Oksoo Elementary School Library by Yoojin Jang Oksoo Elementary is a remodeled school library for a public elementary school in Seoul. The project is part of a program that converts older facilities into creative learning spaces. The library is arranged like a playground, so the boundaries between playing and reading remain open. Children read at desks, on cushions, or lying on heated floors with their shoes removed. Bookshelves are set at various heights to suit the eye levels of children. The ceiling is painted sky-blue, and lighting was selected for each area, with some existing LED fixtures reused.
