Yan'an Tourist Service Center Urban Renovation

Urban Planning and Urban Design Yan'an Tourist Service Center Urban Renovation by Hongjun Tang Yan'an Tourist Service Center is an urban renewal project located in the core area of Yan'an old city, Shaanxi Province, China. The design responds to a damaged ecological environment and limited public facilities. The core concept is the integration of site memories into the design. The natural ecology was restored and an open urban park was created to link the city with the landscape. The facades are made of local beige sandstone, laid seamlessly by local craftsmen using traditional techniques. The design integrates the building with the mountain.
