Print and Published Media Design January Uprising Catalog of Documents by Izabela Jurczyk January Uprising is a catalog of documents of everyday social life from the period of the Polish national uprising against the Russian Empire, which began in January 1863 and ended in the autumn of 1864. The catalog was issued to mark the 160th anniversary of the outbreak of the uprising. The ceremonial character of the book is expressed through the gold color, recalling shimmering January snow, a hardcover embossed with gold foil, and golden panels that frame the illustrations like paintings. Modest secret prints are thus presented as works of art.
