The National Gallery Visual Identity

Meng Chu Huang

Graphics, Illustration and Visual Communication Design The National Gallery Visual Identity by Meng Chu Huang The National Gallery is a visual identity created for the national art gallery in London. The identity replaces a typography-only logo with a distinct graphic mark. The new logo is a double L frame formed by seven lines. The seven lines refer to the painting collection, which spans the 13th to the 19th centuries. The logo remains legible at a minimum width of 0.75 inches. The wordmark places emphasis on London to improve visibility in online searches. The intent is to make the gallery easier to recognise worldwide.
