Harmony Cultural Learning Space

Cultural Heritage and Culture Industry Design Harmony Cultural Learning Space by Daisuke Nagatomo and Minnie Jan Harmony is a cultural learning space created inside a historic tea factory at National Kuan Hsi Senior High School in Hsinchu, Taiwan. The school was founded in 1924 with an agricultural focus. The renovated area covers 352 square meters. Flexible and modular planning, interdisciplinary collaboration zones, and immersive digital media support situational teaching. Old tea processing equipment and the preserved tea throwing opening are transformed into artistic installations. Reusing old equipment and furniture reduces waste and joins historical texture with modern design.
