Xanxan Shelf

Furniture Design Xanxan Shelf by Carles Marquina Xanxan is a shelf with customizable configurations, designed to reduce transport and storage space. The design consists of two anchor posts to which a web of strings is fastened. A simple mechanism allows the user to adjust the tension of each string and to create a straight support surface. Xanxan holds the same items as a standard shelf and can also be used as a hanger. Compared with a standard shelf, Xanxan uses seven times less wood, needs nine times less storage space and weighs four times less. The anchor posts are made of maple wood.
