Ryouriyado Yamazaki Japanese inn

Architecture, Building and Structure Design Ryouriyado Yamazaki Japanese inn by Makoto Furihata Ryouriyado Yamazaki is a Japanese inn located in Echizen town, Fukui prefecture, Japan. The former reinforced concrete building was replaced by a wooden structure. A robust private house built about 120 years ago in the same Hokuriku area was relocated and revived as the main building. Existing fittings and interior materials were reused to keep the historic atmosphere intact. Wood, stucco and reclaimed wooden fittings were applied by traditional craftsmen. The two-storey inn is designed to harmonize with the severe coastal climate.
