Print and Published Media Design The Classic of Tea Books Design by Junheng Li The Classic of Tea is a book design based on the earliest known written record of tea. The book and its packaging are made entirely of beech wood. The central title is carved in red copper. Each page is a wooden panel that can be removed and viewed separately. The lid opens from the middle towards both sides, so the complete book can be lifted out. The pages are produced with a laser engraving machine and paint. The choice of materials refers to ancient Chinese culture, which was recorded on bamboo, wood and bronze, the same materials linked to early tea culture.
