Architecture, Building and Structure Design Foundry Commercial by Mohamed Shabana Foundry is a mixed-use commercial building designed for a community near a downtown area. The exterior combines original historic brick with a metal frame glass greenhouse of geometric shapes. The interior includes a multi-purpose event hall, restaurants, coffee shops, meeting rooms and an art space. Reused and recycled materials are applied, including reclaimed wood, bricks and copper plates on the facades. Interior finishes include stucco, reused metal panels, wood floors and local interlocking stone. The design repurposes an established property and links past and present.
