Circular staplers join tissue and restore the continuity of the alimentary canal after part of an organ is removed. The internal supporting structure of the housing was removed to create a barrier-free head, which reduces staple malformation caused by the piston effect. The enlarged tubular casing allows more tissue to be resected in a single step. An automatic safety lock engages only when the instrument is ready to fire, and a clear bell tone confirms that firing is complete.
