House in Toyonaka Architecture

Shintaro Fujiwara

Architecture, Building and Structure Design House in Toyonaka Architecture by Shintaro Fujiwara House in Toyonaka is a private residence in a dense residential district in northern Osaka, Japan. The site is surrounded by closely packed houses and has no distant views, so privacy was the main concern. The house therefore avoids large windows and stays closed to the street. A glass floor, split-level floors and skylights let the line of sight pass slightly through each part of the interior, reducing the sense of enclosure. The limited daylight also makes the passing of time clearly perceived. The total floor area is 107.62 square meters.
