The phone provides essential tools only, including calling, messaging and an alarm clock, while further tools such as directions, a calculator, a music player and ride-sharing are in development. A black and white electronic paper display needs little power, offers strong contrast and stays legible in direct sunlight. The body is lightweight, splash-resistant and small enough for a pocket. Social media, email and data tracking are never included.
