Rizhao Ocean Park

Architecture, Building and Structure Design Rizhao Ocean Park by Tengyuan Design Rizhao is an ocean park that combines an aquarium with a plant and bird park. The design was inspired by the golden sea surface at sunrise. A non-linear parametric method shapes soft patterns that recall ripples on the water. The aquarium facade is clad in golden perforated aluminum panels, while the plant and bird park is enclosed by a glass curtain wall. A spherical single-layer grid skylight with a span of 40 meters crowns the aquarium, and natural light reaches more than 60 percent of the water body. Visiting routes and pools are interspersed to create varied exhibition spaces.
