Each snow chain is fastened to a tire with a canvas strap to improve grip on icy urban roads. Handles on both sides rotate to fit different wheel sizes, so the chains suit most tires on the market. Several chain units can also be assembled into an escape board for use in desert, silt and swamp conditions, where a wheel can lose traction. The modular structure replaces a bulky escape board and saves storage space inside the car.
